These Terms of Use contain supplementary provisions for the use of the Ref7 app. The applicable Apple terms additionally apply to obtaining and using the app through the Apple App Store.

2. Purpose and Functionality of Ref7

Ref7 is an iPhone app with a companion Apple Watch app designed to support handball referees in conducting and documenting a match.

In particular, the app provides functions for timing matches, recording goals, penalties and team time-outs, managing match information, as well as subsequently documenting and exporting match information.

Ref7 is an aid for officiating matches. The app replaces neither knowledge and application of the applicable handball rules and competition regulations nor the referees' exercise of independent judgement.

3. Responsibility When Using Ref7 During a Match

The user remains responsible for the proper conduct and documentation of a match.

In particular, before using Ref7 during a match, the user should familiarise themselves with its operation and ensure that the devices used are sufficiently charged and functioning properly.

Information displayed or stored in Ref7 must be checked for accuracy before any further use, in particular before it is included in an official match report.

In the event of discrepancies between Ref7 and official records, requirements or decisions of the competent federations and bodies, the relevant official information and rules shall prevail.

4. Technical Requirements and Availability

Compatible Apple devices and suitable versions of the respective operating systems are required to use Ref7. Certain functions require interaction between the iPhone and Apple Watch.

It cannot be guaranteed that Ref7 will be available at all times without interruption or technical errors. In particular, operating system updates, changes to Apple services, connection problems between the devices, device malfunctions or other technical circumstances may affect its use.

Ref7 is continuously developed. Functions may be changed, added or removed as part of further development, provided that this does not unreasonably impair contractual use.

5. Subscription

The full functionality of Ref7 may require a paid, automatically renewing subscription.

The subscription is purchased and managed through the Apple App Store. The prices and terms displayed in the App Store or purchase dialogue at the time of purchase shall apply.

Where a free introductory period is offered to eligible users, its duration and terms are set out in the offer displayed in the App Store or when the subscription is purchased.

At the end of a free introductory period, the subscription converts to the paid subscription and renews automatically in accordance with the terms displayed at the time of purchase, unless it is cancelled in time using the functions provided by Apple.

Billing is handled by Apple. Ref7 does not have access to the user's credit card information, bank details or other payment information.

6. Cancellation, Withdrawal and End of Subscription

The subscription can be managed and cancelled using the functions provided by Apple.

Cancellation generally ends automatic renewal. Access already purchased remains available until the end of the respective subscription period, unless Apple's terms provide otherwise.

The applicable Apple terms and procedures govern billing, cancellation, withdrawal and refunds, as well as management of the App Store subscription. The user's statutory rights remain unaffected.

7. User-Entered Data and Exports

The user decides which information is entered into Ref7.

When entering personal data or other protected information, the user is responsible for ensuring that its use is lawful in the respective context.

Exports generated by Ref7 can be shared with other applications, persons or services using the functions provided by the operating system. The user is responsible for selecting the recipient or destination and for the subsequent use of the exported data.

Further information about data processing is provided in the Privacy Policy.

8. Intellectual Property and Licence

Ref7 and its associated content, design elements and software components are protected by copyright and, where applicable, other intellectual property rights.

Use of the app is additionally governed by the Apple App Store licence terms applicable to the app.

Any reproduction, modification, redistribution or other use of Ref7 outside the granted usage rights is permitted only to the extent allowed by law or expressly authorised.

9. Liability

Ref7 was developed as a supporting tool for officiating matches. Despite careful development and testing, technical errors, user errors or discrepancies between the match information stored in the app and the actual or officially established match information cannot be completely ruled out.

The user therefore remains responsible for independently checking match-related information and decisions.

The provider's liability is governed by the statutory provisions. Mandatory statutory liability claims are not limited by these Terms of Use.

10. Changes and Further Development

Ref7 may be updated and further developed, in particular to improve functions, meet the technical requirements of new operating system versions, correct errors or implement legal requirements.

These Terms of Use may be amended where changes to Ref7 or legal or technical developments make this necessary. The version published on this website at the relevant time shall apply, unless mandatory statutory provisions provide otherwise.

11. Applicable Law

Austrian law shall apply, excluding its conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory statutory provisions, in particular mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country in which the user has their habitual residence, provide otherwise.
